Hmmmmm what to do in the lull after Christmas?

I know for many day home providers you may be feeling all crafted out following Christmas and it's too early to start valentines day crafts! So what to do?

How about focussing on animals associated with cold, snow and winter?

Below is a great idea for a simple and easy polar bear craft and a novel painting technique called puffy paint! The kids will love mixing the glue and shaving foam to make puffy paint!!

Materials:

  • 1 paper plate
  • puffy paint (mix equal parts white glue and shaving cream)
  • 2 white circles for ears (the picture shows cosmetic sponges)
  • 2 big google eyes
  • black circle or Oreo cookie

Directions:

  1. Make puffy paint by mixing equal parts white glue and shaving cream. Mix well.
  2. Cover the bottom of a paper plate with puffy paint.
  3. Add paper ears or sponges, eyes, and a black paper nose or Oreo cookie. Allow to dry.

Don't eat the cookie. After drying, the paint maintains its puffy texture
